Working through the MFI settings

0:00One of the first things that happens once we start tuning is that after we've adjusted

0:07all the valves, cam timing, etc., we go back through the MFI system.

0:16And back in the 70s, there were no electronic aids, let's say, for the engine.

0:24So this is what's called MFI, it's mechanical fuel injection.

0:29So everything is done mechanically.

0:32Porsche always erred on the side of being too rich, but there's also a limit to that.

0:39So what we found is once the valves were back into spec, which the exhaust valves were quite

0:45a bit out, everything has changed in terms of the readings.

0:50So Rich has started to go back through and begin the process of tuning the MFI.
