The standard folder put Light Ivory beside Signal Yellow, Sepia Brown, Tangerine, Bahia Red, Albert Blue, Light Yellow, Aubergine and Emerald Green. Nine choices already covered a considerable stretch of the spectrum. Black was elsewhere.
It appeared in Sonderfarben, translated on the same sheet as “Special Colours.” So did Irish Green, Olive, Gulf Blue and all five metallic finishes shown for the 911. A restrained black car and a luminous Metallic Green car could therefore begin with the same extra piece of sales literature.
The folder names the 911 T, E and S together, with separate ordering references for Coupé and Targa. These were named factory choices: a buyer could order something outside the standard palette without asking Porsche to invent a color.
Metallic Green provides the connection to the 1973 S in this archive. The earlier folder already calls it Grünmetallic, Metallic Green, Vert métallisé and Verde metallizzato, and gives it the ordering references 8383 and 8310.
